VanRijsingenGreen is a Helmond-based family business that has been a well-known player in the market for healthy and fresh foods for over 50 years, especially open-field vegetables. VanRijsingenGreen is familiar with the many possibilities of vegetables and is very active in valorizing residual flow with an existing juice factory for carrots. With the available knowledge, the company transforms vegetables into challenging new applications. Value is added to vegetables, or pieces thereof, that are not used in the production process so that as little as possible is wasted.

Our ties and collaborations are therefore close with VanRijsingenGreen. Within the Food from Food project they have contributed to the (re)valuation of available fresh vegetable residual flows. The by-product of carrots is now processed into juice and concentrate. There was also an issue surrounding the optimization of the production process of fibers and powders. Food Tech Brainport has helped VanRijsingenGreen to optimize this process.

When you are open to new ideas and want to collaborate smartly, you can get a lot done. Your residual flow can suddenly become your new source of income. It has always been logical for VanRijsingenGreen to look for opportunities to add value to by-products. It is therefore expected that residual flows will no longer be discussed in the future. In fact, there is a good chance that there will be a shortage in the future. This is because more and more projects are being created to add value to by-products.
