HAS has been working on the world of tomorrow for more than 70 years. Both on a local and global level. After all, there is work to be done. The earth has been here for 4.6 billion years and humans have only just arrived. But our influence is great. We cannot imagine what the earth will look like in 10,000 years. We can imagine what kind of world we pass on to our children and grandchildren. And that is where HAS University of Applied Sciences wants to contribute. What could be more beautiful, better and smarter. Where is the ideal balance between people, nature and the economy? How do we ensure sufficient good and healthy food for everyone and how do we create a vital living environment?
HAS University of Applied Sciences focuses on education, knowledge transfer and research aimed at daily practice, i.e. real life. The knowledge and experience of HAS lecturers and professionals from the field come together with the fresh perspective of students. For example, we work together on solutions for small and large issues in the field of agro, food and living environment.
Since 2019, our collaboration with HAS University of Applied Sciences has intensified and we work closely together on defined lines of research. Together we prepare students for a career in the food industry. We can do this in an authentic location with food grade facilities. In this way, students get a good and realistic picture of the practice. In collaboration with HAS University of Applied Sciences, we have now also set up an Application Center for Sustainable Food Processing to make the research results known and on which research lines we collaborate intensively.
